  • Striking Appearance: Produces fine-textured, spinach-like leaves with significantly smaller stems compared to traditional chards, adding an elegant touch to your garden.
  • Optimal Growing Conditions: Thrives best in well-drained soil with full to partial sunlight, ensuring robust growth; water moderately to maintain moist soil without waterlogging.
  • Continuous Yield: Unlike other varieties, Perpetual Swiss Chard resists bolting in hot weather, ensuring a steady supply of leaves from spring until fall with proper care.
  • Versatile Culinary Uses: Its tender leaves are ideal for salads, sautées, and smoothies, making it a superior choice for health-focused meals and green recipes.
  • Heat Resilience and Easy Maintenance: Shows remarkable resistance to bolting in higher temperatures and is easy to cultivate with shallow, gentle weeding to protect its shallow roots.

Introduce a dependable and nutritious staple to your garden with our Swiss Chard Perpetual Seeds. This variety stands out for its resistance to bolting in the heat of summer and produces a consistent yield of spinach-like leaves with smaller stems, making it a must-have for serious gardeners and cooks alike. To plant, sow seeds outdoors as soon as the soil is workable in the spring. Plant seeds 1 inch deep and about 5 or 6 seeds per foot in rows that are 15 to 18 inches apart. Subsequent thinnings should leave plants 6 inches apart. For a continual supply, perform successive seedings every 10 to 14 days.

Swiss Chard Perpetual can also double as an attractive contrast plant in flower gardens due to its appealing foliage. This biennial chard not only enhances your garden’s aesthetic but also your kitchen’s ingredient list, offering a fresh, nutritious boost to many dishes from crisp salads to hearty sautés. Embrace the benefits of growing Swiss Chard Perpetual: a garden favorite that promises yield and beauty in equal measure. Start planting today and enjoy a bountiful, health-boosting harvest through multiple seasons!

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

Sow Swiss Chard Perpetual seeds outdoors as soon as the soil is workable in spring. Plant seeds 1 inch deep and space them about 5 or 6 seeds per foot in rows 15 to 18 inches apart. Thin seedlings to 6 inches apart once they have grown a few inches tall.

To ensure successful germination, keep the soil consistently moist until the seeds sprout. Transplant any overcrowded seedlings to maintain proper spacing. Harden off seedlings by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions if started indoors.

Water regularly to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Harvest leaves as needed, starting with the outer leaves to encourage continuous growth. Enjoy the fresh leaves in salads, sautés, or smoothies.
