GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

Sow Summertime Lettuce seeds directly in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked in spring. Choose a sunny spot and sow seeds about 1/4 inch deep and 1 inch apart in rows. Maintain a row spread of about 12 inches. Cover lightly with soil and keep the area moist.

Germination occurs in about 7-10 days. Once seedlings are 2 inches tall, thin them to 8-12 inches apart to ensure proper growth. Gradually harden off seedlings before transplanting if started indoors.

Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Harvest lettuce heads when they are firm and reach the desired size. Practice successive planting every 10-14 days for a continuous supply.
