GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

Sow Mr. Big Pea seeds directly into well-draining soil in early spring as soon as the ground can be worked. Space seeds 1-3 inches apart in rows and plant 1 inch deep initially, increasing to 2 inches deep after April 15th. Use a seed inoculant to improve nitrogen fixation.

Germinate seeds in cool temperatures, ideally between 40-75°F. Once seedlings are established, provide a sturdy trellis for climbing. Harden off seedlings by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions over a week before transplanting if started indoors.

Water regularly, ensuring soil remains moist but not waterlogged. Harvest pods when they are swollen but still tender to maintain sweetness. Frequent harvesting encourages continuous production. Enjoy fresh or freeze for later use.
