GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

Sow Hakurei Salad Turnip seeds directly in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked in early spring. Space seeds about an inch apart in rows that are 12 inches apart. They thrive in well-drained, fertile soil with consistent moisture.

Germination occurs in 5-10 days. Thin seedlings to 2-4 inches apart once they are a few inches tall. No transplanting is needed as turnips grow best when sown directly. Ensure the soil remains moist to promote even growth.

Harvest turnips when they are 2-3 inches in diameter for the best flavor and texture. Enjoy them raw in salads or cooked in a variety of dishes. The greens can also be harvested and used in salads or cooked like spinach.
