GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

Sow Escarole Natacha Lettuce seeds indoors about 8 weeks before the last expected frost. Alternatively, direct sow into the garden as the soil warms, approximately 4 weeks before the last frost date. Plant seeds a quarter inch deep in well-draining soil enriched with organic matter.

Germination occurs within 7-14 days. Once seedlings are sturdy, transplant them outdoors, spacing them 12 inches apart. Harden off seedlings by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions over a week before transplanting.

Provide consistent moisture, and ensure the plants receive full sun to partial shade. Harvest when heads are full and leaves are vibrant green. Cut at the base to encourage regrowth. Enjoy fresh in salads or lightly sautéed.
