GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

Sow Chantenay Red Cored Carrot seeds directly outdoors in early spring, as soon as the soil can be worked. Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep and space them about 1 inch apart in rows that are 12 inches apart.

Keep the soil consistently moist to ensure successful germination, which typically occurs within 10-20 days. Thin seedlings to 3 inches apart once they reach 2 inches in height to allow room for growth. Mulch can be used to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Regular watering and occasional fertilization will promote healthy growth. Harvest carrots when they reach desired size, usually around 70 days. Store them in a cool, dry place for winter use or enjoy them fresh, canned, or frozen.
