  • The 25-gram packet suits larger home gardens and community plots planning multiple sowings for steady harvests through cool seasons.
  • The 125-gram packet fits small market growers or school/community gardens establishing several long rows or staggered plantings.
  • The 500-gram packet is best for diversified farms, CSAs, and landscapers installing long bed runs or repeated successions at scale.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

Sow Chioggia beet seeds directly into the garden as soon as the soil can be worked in early spring. Plant seeds 1/2 inch deep in rows spaced 18 inches apart. Ensure the soil is well-drained and fertile for optimal growth.

Germination typically occurs within 5-10 days. Once seedlings emerge, thin them to 2-4 inches apart to allow room for root development. The thinned greens can be used in salads or as a garnish.

Water regularly to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Harvest the beets when the roots are about 2 inches in diameter. Pull gently to avoid damaging the roots. Enjoy them raw or cooked for a sweet, peppery flavor.
