GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

Sow Hestia Brussels Sprouts seeds outdoors when the soil is workable, about 1/4 inch deep. For an earlier start, begin indoors 2-3 weeks before the last frost. Space seeds about 2 inches apart and thin seedlings to 12 inches once they reach 3 inches tall.

Germination occurs best at 70°F. Once seedlings emerge, maintain a temperature around 65°F and provide ample light. Transplant hardened seedlings outdoors after the last frost, spacing them 18-24 inches apart in rows 24-36 inches apart.

Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers after midsummer. Harvest sprouts from the bottom up when they reach about 1 inch in diameter. Frost improves flavor, making late-season harvests particularly sweet.
