GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

Sow Golden Cross Cabbage seeds outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked in spring. Cover seeds lightly and space them about 1 inch apart in rows 12-18 inches apart. For an early start, sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date.

Germinate seeds at a temperature of 70°F (21°C). Once seedlings have developed their first true leaves, thin them to 12-18 inches apart. Transplant carefully to avoid disturbing roots, and harden off before planting outdoors.

Water regularly, especially during dry spells, to prevent bolting. Fertilize with a balanced vegetable fertilizer to promote healthy growth. Harvest when heads are firm, and enjoy in salads, stir-fries, or fermented dishes like sauerkraut.
